TRANSCO is a short form of power TRANSmission COmpanies which are India Limited (PGCIL) power grid corporations, and Delhi Transco Limited (DTL). Transco is involved only in transmitting electrical power.
TRANSCO transmits electric power from generating stations to load centers called DISCOM at high voltage levels usually above 220 kV. DISCOM companies like BRPL, NDPL, and BYPL. DISCOMs receive the power from TRANSCO and distribute the received power as services to customers.
